Apple Censoring Pubtunes

Whilst doing some keyword research on the app store last night I came across what I initially thought was an error, but having left it for 24 hours and checked again, it appears that Apple is censoring Pubtunes in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The app is clearly marked within my iTunes Connect account for sale in the UAE, and yet it doesn’t appear anywhere in the app store for the UAE.

Is it because of Alcohol?
I thought at first it may be banned due to the intention of using the app the consumption of Alcohol, but apps like iBeer and Drinking Buddy are available.

Age Restriction?
Pubtunes was given a 17+ rating on the app store due to apparent frequent alcohol references, so are no 17+ apps being shown in the UAE? By the looks of it no. I can’t find a single app 17+ on the UAE store – the Kama Sutra for example is not available (at least not in app form…podcasts about it are freely available)..

So it looks like Apple are censoring all 17+ apps in the UAE. Has anybody heard about this before?

Alcohol is legal in UAE, though you need a special permit to privately buy it.

I’m betting that the UAE/Apple isn’t specifically targeting the app for alcohol references, but rather just banning everything that’s rated 17+. The internet is heavily censored in the UAE, so no doubt this is an extension of those existing policies:
