Jisho Touch 1.3 Submitted

I’ve submitted Jisho Touch 1.3 to the AppStore earlier today.

In this release I focused on cleaning up the interface and tried to focus on clarity of information and making things a bit easier to use.

For instance, first thing on start up the search button bar appears immediately, removing the need for a touch before you can start searching through Jisho.

The results listing has also been reworked dramatically. Firstly, I now include the first english word in the cell. I also removed redundant information on the screen by not displaying the reading the entry was only Kana.

Jisho Touch 1.3 After

I think if you compare the two images above, the second image is a lot clearer and cleaner looking while giving you more information.

Another major feature is in the large kanji view. You can now swipe left or right to view different kanji and their readings for an entry. Compare this with the current method: Press a blue chevron, view kanji, press back button, press next blue chevron. Swiping wins.

I’ve got a lot more ideas for future development and I can’t wait to get them developed and in your hands.
